\nThe highly acclaimed Poipu Bay Golf Course at Poipu Bay Resort on Kauai\u2019s south shore along Poipu Bay is a links-style course known for its quality grooming. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., this course at the southern tip of the island is often compared to Pebble Beach. From 1994 to 2006 the Poipu Bay Golf Course hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, and the course has been rated among America\u2019s top 18 courses by Golf Magazine.<\/p>\n
\nThe Kiahuna Golf Club in Koloa on southern Kauai is known for its abundant bunkers and water hazards though it is a good course for all age levels. Designed by respected golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Kiahuna Golf Club has fairly direct tradewind exposure so it can be windy in the afternoons. The LPGA Worldwide Championship of Pro-Am Golf was held here.<\/p>\n
\nLocated on the east side of Kauai, the Puakea Golf Course designed by Robin Nelson is located beneath the formidable Mount Haupu. The course has nice ocean views and is laid out amongst various streams and ravines.<\/p>\n
\nAlso in Lihue is Kiele Golf Course at the Kauai Lagoons Golf and Racket Club. Set amidst freshwater lagoons, cliffs and woodsy areas, the course is one of Kauai\u2019s most difficult. Kiele was designed by Jack Nicklaus and has great ocean views. The course was ranked among the 100 Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest.<\/p>\n
\nDesigned by Jack Nicklaus, the Mokihana Course in Lihue at the Kauai Lagoons Golf and Racket Club is known for its open fairways as well as well-guarded greens. Designed in the Scottish style, the Mokihana Course is a bit less challenging than the nearby Kiele Course.<\/p>\n
\nLocated on the elegant Princeville Resort on Kauai\u2019s north shore, the Prince Course is a challenging links-style course set atop the rolling coastal bluffs with great ocean views. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Prince Course has been ranked among the top golf courses in America, and Golf Magazine has named it as Hawaii\u2019s best golf course.<\/p>\n
\nLocated at the Princeville Resort on the north shore, the Makai Course includes three separate nine-hole courses named the Lakes Nine, the Woods Nine, and the Ocean Nine. All three provide pleasant, well-groomed course is not as regal as the Prince Course.<\/p>\n
\nThis oceanside golf course on eastern Kauai is certainly among America\u2019s most beautiful municipal courses. Designed by Toyo Shirai, Wailua Golf Course has been ranked among Hawaii\u2019s top 15 courses by Golf Digest and has hosted USGA tournaments.
