Dozens of reputable companies offer lessons and guided dives, and renown dive sites include the offshore sunken crater of Molokini as well as the coastal area of Honolua Bay – both of these areas are designated as marine conservation areas. Most dive excursions leave from the ports of Maalaea and Lahaina. Kauai’s scenic coastline and white sand beaches are the island’s main attraction and a favorite place for vacationers. Now a new paved path called Ke Ala Hele Makalae (The Path That Goes by the Coast) makes it easy to ride or walk along the scenic eastern shore of the beautiful Garden Island.
