Koolau Golf Club
Located in Kaneohe presents the golfer with nature’s gifts, including the Koolau Range, the backdrop volcano remnant that serves as a mountain view, and the Kaneohe Bay, with its captivating facets, including a reef, sandbar and multitudes of blue waters.
Boasting points for golfers of Koolau Golf Club include its natural formation from a tropical rainforest and the back tees are considered among the most challenging worldwide. Verdant foliage, clouds peering above the mountain range, varying elevation and plentiful waterfalls provide for an exciting day of golf. The forward tees offer good play for all levels.
The clubhouse alone is an inspiring spot to spend some time and Koolau Golf Club’s restaurant and snack bar will keep you plied with what you need. Other points to know, the pro shop is top notch, walking is permitted after 3pm and the driving range is five acres.

Olomana Golf Links
The Olomana Golf Links (olo is camel plus mana is staying power) is a course in Waimanalo also near the Koolau mountain range. The Olomana Trail is an adventurer’s ultimate goal in hiking and the golf course could be considered a golfer’s ultimate goal. The front nine is where beginners and pros alike can play and the back nine is the more challenging side. Visitors will find fair rates, ongoing specials, unobstructed views in a clubhouse built with native Hawaiian koa and Japanese dishes in the restaurant.
Luana Hills Country Club
Luana Hills Country Club is part of the route of golf courses near the Pali Highway. The course is part of the Maunawili Valley, seemingly miles from but surprisingly the closest to Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. Luana Hills is another course near Lanikai, in neighboring Kailua. Another course with a hiker’s trail alongside it, Luana Hills displays native splashes of color amidst the greens among greens. A gorgeous day includes mist rising above Koolau, evoking a sense of ancient Hawaii.
Pali Golf Course
Pali Golf Course is a solid course—views of the Koolau mountain range, a municipal course locals like and a good one to play after exploring the others on the Windward Side of Oahu. Bay View is a good golf course for novices. While it is a private course, it’s worth mentioning the Mid Pacific Country Club in Lanikai itself.
