If you’re visiting the island of Maui between June 17 and June 21, you might want to check out the Maui Film Festival which includes the best short films of the year as well as world-class culinary events.
Highlights of the Maui Film Festival
Cirque du Cinema – This under-the-stars ‘Cirque du Cinema’ at the Wailea Resort celebrates cinema and storytelling, showcasing more than 40 major and mini-major studio and independent and World Cinema feature releases. Also included are 25 of the summer’s best short films.
Culinary Events – Include a ‘Taste of the Islands’ opening night twilight reception at The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui, a ‘Taste of Chocolate’ at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, and a ‘Taste of Wailea’ featuring the top Wailea Resort chefs.
Filmmakers’ VIP Soiree – Held at the luxurious Capische? restaurant in Wailea, and the
Starry Night Moon Dance – takes place at Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Cafe at The Shops at Wailea.
Places to Stay
The film festival takes place in Wailea, Maui, so we would recommend staying in one of our Wailea vacation rentals or Wailea condos to minimize your drive times. However, the island isn’t so large you couldn’t rent any Maui vacation rental and commute to the event.
