One of the world’s best known beaches lace the southern coast of Kauai. Beaches
Take in some of the world’s best beaches; there are six, with overlapping qualities along with distinctions. Water sports such as wind surfing, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, etc. are top-notch at Brennecke’s, Lawai, and Mahaulepu Beaches. Solitude and a great journey to get to it describes Mahaulepu Beach. Shipwreck’s Beach is a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll. Families find Baby Beach as the place to go for a quality beach day together, one that has all the basic amenities, making for an easy and safe day. If you visit multiple beaches, pick one plus Poipu itself, the beach has all the facets of a top beach. Poipu Beach has great swimming, some water sports to play or watch, gorgeous waters and dreamy sands.
Activities
Poipu is home to two golf courses, including Poipu Bay Golf Course, which has undergone a major renovation and will be ready for play again in December 2010. The Koloa and the Mahaulepu Heritage Trails give life to the sights, plus a story to understand about Poipu’s past. The Paa Dunes, heiau, the Makauwahi Sinkhole, Waiopili petroglyphs, Spouting Horn, Moir Gardens and native plants and animals (sea turtles, geese, monk seals, etc.) are part of the trails, which can be seen in multiple ways, by car, on foot or by cycle.

Eat
Poipu also offers plenty of places to eat in great atmospheres, sunset and oceanside, with cocktails and fresh seafood. It’s the town where you can fill your days easily and as active or as inactive as you wish.
