Baby Honu - We loved the location of the Baby Honu. It was down a little lane across from the Kailua Beach Park so it was easy access to the beach, running paths and roads around Lanikai and a short distance to get shave ice. The customer service was great. Krista was so nice and we loved talking to her and meeting her dogs.
Hawaiian Romantic Cottage - We loved hearing the ocean 24/7 and waking to see the morning sunrise without even lifting our head off the pillow. The complete privacy was unexpected in such a perfect setting. Honest paradise. Only real complain was that it was not a King size bed as advertised. Should change that in your listing.

Rsvp Ohana - RSVP Ohana is awesome. We loved having our own little house to come home to. The pool was great for a quick dip. We also loved being in walking distance of the Barmuda triangle. Great times were had by all.
Ocean Breeze Suite - - Right next to the ocean
- Right next to the Polynesian center
- Maria and Ray were very nice and helpfull
- Nice appartment
- beautiful place
By The Sea Home - Layout of the house accomodated our group very well. Pool and beach access was great. Lanikai access to Kailua area was very convenient. The upstairs bedroom and dining area got very hot and the front porch light did not work so it was always dark when we came home. Overall, everything else was great.
Hang Zen - Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely beach house. It was ideal for the eight of us with my husband and I in the downstairs' studio separate from the rest of the family who were in three bedrooms upstairs that had a huge kitchen and living room area that led to a huge lanai (balcony in Hawaiian) where we all barbequed frequently. Under the house next to the stairs, it was nice having warm water also (some places only have cold water) where you can rinse off the salt and sand after being on the beach. We had a picnic table and lounge chairs to use at our convenience.
I especially liked the location as it was next to Shark's Cove - a scuba diving, snorkling, tide-pooling, and swimming mecca. The sunsets (of which we took many pictures) were magnificent (hence called - Sunset Beach). The children liked watching the sea turtles swim by. At night from the balcony, it was exciting to see the scuba divers with their blue flashlights in the water either exploring or fishing. Foodland Supermarket is right up the street with the famous Ted's Bakery about a mile the other way. My daughters jogged to Waimea Bay (about 1 mile away) and jumped off the famous rock. Haleiwa is about three miles away with many local shops and restaurants.
Customer Service was very warm and accommodating -excellent Aloha spirit. When we arrived late (9:00 PM), we called Peg who helped us promptly with the mishap. Kudos to her! Thank you Greg and Chris for all your help also.
It was the ultimate living-on-the-beach dream with the surfers even if it was just for ten days. It was very relaxing and stress-free. Standing from the beach, this house "stands up" to the rest of the homes beside it. You've got to see and vacation in it for yourselves! Yes, I would definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Oahu.
Islander on the Beach 114 - Please note that I was disappointed that the "condo" was listed as a "condo". It was misleading. It should have been listed as a "privately owned hotel room"... There was no bathtub as listed - it had only a handicapped shower - a real disappointment for me. There was no sitting area in the room such as a couch - only 2 beds. In the end, the disappointment with the room did not interfere with the quality of our trip - other than not being what was expected.
Puamana 240-3 - I really liked the unit, it was clean and large enough to accomodate our family of six. The location is the best with regard to swimming and surfing in the ocean. A couple of suggestions I would have for the owners are:
fix shower door in master bath. It is a very heavy peice of glass and difficult to open. It is also coming off it's hinges which is unsafe. Second item - small thing, keep a blow dryer in the master bath. They are usually in hotels and rentals these days so I don't bother bringing one along. This unit didn't have one so I really noticed it!. They had lots of fun water gear; boogie boards, snorkle gear etc. It was nice to have all of that at the unit and not have to rent more stuff.
Overall we really enjoyed it.
Thanks
Ka Hale Kaiola - The setting, view, and weather are absolutely magnificent, one of the great vacation spots anywhere! Unit is excellent -- comfortable/luxurious and convenient, for a family group of grandparents 65+, parents 40-ish, and child 5. The sister unit next door is close, but we got along well with the family there, so that was no problem. The Y camp on the other side was occupied for part of the stay, but this was no problem for noise or other disturbance. The best thing was that the surf directly in front of the house was good for swimming and snorkeling almost every day we were there. The factors affecting this are the amount of afternoon wind, which was relatively low while we were there, and the threat of a riptide -- we did not find a rip in the area directly in front and to the right, and many people including children used the water there while we were there. Tunnels, around the corner to the left, is always good, wind-sheltered and safe, with outstanding snorkeling -- deservedly a world-famous beach. The downside is that the deep coarse sand on our beach makes it a longer walk than it looks to Tunnels, so it is nice when the beach in front is swimmable. Note, we saw a sea-turtle near the rock directly in front of the house. The kiteboarders put on a great show every afternoon. As far as eats go, for takeout and casual, we loved Tropical Taco (fish tacos) and the shave-ice trailer in Hanalei, and Kilauea fish market for the great ahi wraps. For high end dinner, Bar Acuda is superb, a really first class restaurant.

Hale Lahaina - After having visited Maui many times before, we flew in our two children and their families from both the East Coast and the West Coast to stay with us for a week at Hale Lahaina to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! One of the best things about this home was its location on the beach, and also the fact that it has a pool, which proved to be even more popular than the beach, and the place where one could most often find the children and adults, when we were "at home." (....particularly since three of them have been or are on a swim team and/or is an L. A. County Lifeguard and/or is a swim instructor.) The location also made possible many enjoyable walks on the beach into the town of Lahaina!
The Master Suite at Hale Lahaina is quite lovely, but the idyllic setting was marred by the fact that a horrible smell was in the large closet and since the door had been left ajar, emanated out into the room to greet us upon our arrival. We were never able to get rid of the smell with deoderizers during our entire stay. Also a bedside table lamp there was broken when we arrived, and when it was removed later in the week, we were left with none. All of the beds in the place were comfortable, but all of the bedrooms (beside the master suite) were not created equal, due to ventilation problems (since there is no AC) and the fact that there was a large dark stain on the carpet near the entrance to one of them and that same room had a substandard bathroom, also. It was great to have each of the bedrooms have its own private bathroom, however!
Watching the sun rise on Lanai as we looked across the water at its shores each morning, as well as the lovely views of the neighboring islands, the boats and ships in the Lahaina Harbor with spectacular sunsets each day as the sun sank into the ocean, certainly ranked high on our list of enjoyable features.
A favorite evening was spent attending the Old Lahaina Luau with its good food and entertainment and Leilani's was especially enjoyed for tasty fare. Being able to just walk in to Lahaina to one of it s many restaurant locations for lunch was a great plus, also.
Sadly, the difficulties with the screen doors that we read about in a critique over a year ago have not been rectified, and the difficulty of closing some of the sliding doors as well as the screen doors is still irritating and needs to be addressed. In closing, I would suggest great care be taken in giving out current, not expired, combination numbers which are needed to access the rental upon arrival and during ones stay, since it can be quite disconcerting to have arrived but not be able to get into the property.
A special "mahalo" goes to Mary Kress for her time and patience in helping us to find Hale Lahaina!
