Hi, The features of Serenity are location, beach access and quiet. Beyond that, the unit is dated and quite "tired". Floor coverings are stained, floor trim is dirty, paint and drywall are chipped, windows need washing, bedding is cheap, and so on. From our experience in the hospitality business, it's time for the owner to put some time or money back into it if she wants to meet or exceed expectations. Customer service from Grace and from Two Wahines was top notch. Our only complaint was a proposed extra charge for a later checkout that we felt was a bit much after a 10 day stay and no immediate new coming arrival. The restaurants were fine -- particularly Buzz's, Lucy's and Assagio. Baci Bistro is over-rated in our judgment. Best advice is to take fewer belongings and wait until Serenity is freshened. By the way, we passed along these same comments to Julie of Two Wahines. The cottage was beautifully styled and very well set up for all of our needs. Lovely outdoor spaces for relaxing, eating and enjoying the garden. The hosts are friendly and caring but not at all intrusive (and exceedingly tolerant of our children!). I would highly recommend Blue Ginger.

The unit was as advertised, Clean and well appointed. The only downside was the busy street but we were all grown enough to avoid cars when crossing the street.

If I am ever on Oahu again I would definitely try to stay at the same property.

Also, electric beach is a well hidden snorkel place that was the best.

The roof was leaking, the TV was broken and there was a rip in the screen near our children's bedroom which caused us to worry about security. The customer service was excellent, however. That is, until the caretaker left for his own vacation 3 days after we arrived for our two week stay. I also didn't realize how rainy and cold the windward side of Oahu is in December and wish, when I'd discussed possible houses on the island, that somebody had informed me of that. Having said that, it is a beautiful beach (wish we could have used it -- the man o' wars on shore prevented it) and, had the pool and/or air temperature been warmer, our kids would have loved the pool.

The rental was absolutely beautiful and well furnished. The only reason I rated it a 4 out of 5 is because the rental does not have a stove which for us was a much during the holiday season. The owner was gracious enough to allow us to use hers.

this is oue second stay in Oahu-Kailua, and we went again for a house rental. Baby Honu was a little bit tight for a family of four, but the lanai and garden make-up largely for the small internal space, plus it is excellent valur for 4 (2 have to sleep on the futon bed in the kitchen/lounge area). the property manager (Kirsta) and her sister live next door and were very nice and of great help/advise to us. the Lili koi (paasion fruits) in garden were delicious. Kailua is an excellent base to explore all the island if you want to avoid the hassle oh Honolulu, but be aware the beach is very windy, much more than west side.

Hale O Ke Kai was fabulous! We couldn't have asked for a better rental and the wonderful people that handled the rental were so accomadating. Location was out of this world and the house had everything that we needed. Family and friends came to Hawaii to celebrate our daughter's graduation from UH and it was a perfect house for it. We were able to be together if we wanted and it also allowed for places to be alone. I am definitely planning on renting this house again. Mahalo!

We enjoyed our stay in our Kailua Guest House. All the services we were promised were provided as stated and the entire stay was well worth the cost and we will be doing this again in the near future. Highly recommend this vacation rental service and the guest accomodations were we stayed.

Everything was great but I am not happy that the security deposit will take up to 60 days to refund. This is a bad policy when people leave the place in as good as shape as they found it. I will not rent from Hawaiian Beach Rentals again if this your normal policy. In fact I may contact the Hawaii Better Business Bureau about this. You are using money for 60 days that is not yours.
