The Blue Ginger is an outstanding rental - clean, remodeled, very comfortable. Very near a beautiful beach with any beach gear you need available at the cottage. The owners were welcoming and non-intrusive but available for any requirements. What a great stay! We will definitely return to the Blue ginger if we come back to Oahu.

THE BASIC UNIT REALLY SUCKED.

NO BALCONY OR DECK TO SIT ON TO ENJOY WATER VIEW - SALT COVERED WINDOWS WHILE INSIDE DIMMED VIEWS OUTSIDE.

DIFFICULT BEACH ACCESS.

A/C ALMOST WORKED.

READING LIGHT 9LAMPS AND LEVEL) TERRIBLE.

NIGHT CURTAINS BLED LOTS OF LIGHT DUE TO NEIGHBORS WHO KEPT SECURITY LIGHTS ON AFTER AGREEING TO TURN THEM OFF.

SMALL UNIT-ANY CONDO HAS MANY MORE AMENITIES.

SECOND TIME I HAVE BEEN STUNG BY HBR-NEVER AGAIN-AND NONE OF MY FRIENDS WILL USE HBR.

BEST PART OF THIS TRIP WAS LEAVING THE UNIT.

The best thing about the unit was its location and privacy, the beach was great.
The Customer Service was excelent, they were there for check in and check out.
The best part of the trip was family time spent together in a comfortable environment.
Funny as it may seen the best food was at the Hilton Hawiian village, there price and service was better than any of the local places we tried, that did not make sense to me.
The coast line lead to tons of spactural photos.
My advise to someone else staying in the unit, is plan on playing on the beach as much as possiable.
The thing I liked about this trip was we got out and visited all the Island, there is plenty to see and do.
We did pay a deposit and left the place in great shap, so 60 days to return the deposit seems unproporational

Dave and Lori were wonderful. The house was perfect for our family. We renewed our wedding vows on our 40th anniversary on Sunset Beach at Sunset and the day was more than we could have hoped for. We dined at Ola which was the most perfect restaurant.....open to the beach with food that is out of this world.

Having the whole family together for this week was a first and hopefully it won't be the last. We were all very sad to leave but we will definately be back.

I would recommend Dave and Lori's house to anyone. We lacked nothing while we stayed there and it made the perfect gathering place when we were all together.

Thank you so much for one of the most memorable weeks of our lives.

Suggestions for your stay in Kailua:

Best restaurants: Lucy's and Buzz's.

Best beach: Lanikai (Kaliua is nice, but Lanikai is much better).

Local Snorkeling: Lanikai Beach. The reef is easily accessible and you will see turtles.

Best entertainment: Watching the dogs play in the ocean.

Must do: Rent a kayak and go to out to the island.

Things not to do: Go to Waikiki, Polynesian Cultural Center unless you like to do tourist things.

Comments on the unit:

The room and kitchen are large and comfortable. Don't get your expectations set too high - it's nice but it's not luxury. However, the easy access to the beach is well worth it. In the morning and evening we would take our chairs (supplied) and go sit right on the beach and watch the waves, the people and amazing Kailua dogs. You won't need towels, beach mat, umbrella or boogie board; Herb has it all for you - even a small cooler.

We loved the location, the house itself and all that was provided for us in staples; beach towels, paper towels, even tea bags for my morning tea after having arrived at 2:30 AM (Boston) time. Madeline was more than gracious in letting my daughter Jennifer into the house before we arrived to stock it with some items and give her the keys which made our check in so much easier. We couldn't have been in a better location to do all that we wanted to do, and the house itself was just a perfectly peaceful, quiet, private oasis in close proximity to all that we wanted and needed. We would definitely want to come back and would recommend it to anyone. We did feel it was best suited to our needs, having adult children (the youngest is 21 years old), as there wasn't much "play area" for little ones. We enjoyed barbequeing and eating outdoors by the pool as well as long walks on the beach. We feel truly blessed to have found this piece of heaven to stay at while in Hawaii for our daughter's wedding. Thank you Mad and Joe and Hawaii beach rentals.

We enjoyed the open floor plan of the unit, It was open and airy. We loved the two master bedrooms which accomodated our family perfectly. We also loved the close proximity to the great beach. The custome service was excellent.

The Happy Kailua Beach House was perfect for our vacation. It was clean, fully equiped for all our needs, and toys for the beach. It was very comfortable and conviently located to the best restaurants, grocery, gift stores, and to all of Ohau. I even had the opportunity to meet famous Amos the "Cookie Man" who personally signed my cookie bags I was bringing home for gifts. My advice to someone else staying at this unit, don't bother to pack alot of clothing. Bring your bathing suit, a cover up, enjoy the beach, and the true aloha spirit. I'll be returning!!!
