Description
This is one of four island style units across the street from beautiful Hanalei Bay. These up to date island style units are affordable, spacious and conveniently located on Weke (pronounced "Vekay") Rd. (means fish in Hawaiian). A pleasant short walk to the beach, shops or restaurants make this a great location. Hanalei Bay is a world-class two-mile long, clean peaceful beach with striking mountain, waterfall and bay views. Hanalei town has all you need and the old island aloha feel. Hanalei Retreat's Luana (meaning Content in Peaceful Surroundings) has 3 bedrooms and 1 large bath. Luana is a first floor unit and has garden views and mountain views from the rear patio. There is a hot tub accessible from the ground floor common area which is shared with all 4 units. There is also a BBQ, outdoor shower, and washer/dryer for each building shared with 2 units. The 3rd bedroom has a double bed.

Aloha!! For the most part, the Luana was very clean and tidy. The shower curtain, however, was laden with mold and mildew. I washed it and then it was fine. rnThe bed in the Master Bedroom was softer than we like. You might want to look into replacing it. We are thinking about renting the Malapua next spring, and would like to know if the showers in that unit are just like the shower in the Luana. The shower at the Luana is small and gets too slippery. The gardens are beautiful!! We enjoyed the peace and quietness the back unit provided. All in all, we had a great time and want to return, soon. Please let me know what the nightly rate will be for Memorial Day Weekend 2007, for the Malapua. Many mahalos!!

1 block from the beach is no lie! A few blocks to Hanalei Pier... 1 1/2 blocks to downtown Hanalei. Luana of Hanalei was perfect for our needs. 4 adults (1 couple) and 1 toddler was not too cramped, but you've got to like eachother! I would recommend Luana of Hanalei Retreat to all...
